The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism or (AOHT) represents a collaborative local effort of the Miami - Dade County Public Schools and industry corporations to prepare students to enter the hospitality profession. In addition to course work, students participate in field trips at the local, state, and national levels, listen to expert guest speakers from the industry, and participate in extracurricular and community service activities with in the industry.
In order to be accepted into AOHT, an interested student at the eighth grade level* must submit an application, write an essay, meet several admission requirements (academic, attendance, attitude) and be interviewed during the Spring. Parental consent is also required.
Our co-curricular student clubs assist the students in expanding their knowledge and experience in the field of tourism firsthand. Students can also meet their high school graduation requirements in community service by participating in designated community activities.
